The Story of The Birds on a Wire

Finally! The Birds on a Wire!

Around the time of Papa, my beloved grandfather’s death my sister took over running our family restaurant. Before her my grandmother and grandfather had run it as her parents had before her.

Above the door to the kitchen hung a 1920’s print from Paris of birds on a wire. The restaurant was called Birdland because it sits at a place on the island where the land swoops in like a peanut and we were on both sides of Lake Champlain at once and had MORE BIRDS than anyone else!

Hence the bird print in the dining room. It had hung there my whole life, much of which had taken place IN this restaurant. When my grandmother turned over the reigns of the restaurant to my sister she took her bird print home with her. It felt so empty without it there that for my sister’s grand opening I painted birds on a wire for her to go above the door.

She loved them! And so did most of the customers in the restaurant. So I ended up painting that bird painting over 50 times! Prints were not easy to make in those days. So every time I painted a line of birds I felt connected to my grandfather who I was mourning deeply.

Five years ago when I was told about the energy I run, I was told it had always been running through me and it would go straight into my paintings! It is interesting to me now that I never looked back to figure out what healing my pre-ho’oponopono paintings carry until I got an email from a lovely woman named Shawna a few weeks ago. She is a friend of a friend of mine from up on Lake Champlain.

She wrote to me asking if I had painted the birds that appear on the bottom of my site. She told me her beloved Papa had just died and our mutual friend Kate had sent her to my website to help her heal. Kate and Shawna did not know about my grandfather. It was very painful for me so I have kept it very private.

Shawna said she didn’t know why but she was really drawn to the birds! I got instant chills about the similarity of our circumstances! My Papa’s death had been a heart breaking soul crushing experience so empathy for this grieving woman welled up out of me and then I heard the voice…

“You know why she is drawn to the birds. They are helping her grieve just like they did for you. I sent you Shawna so you would finally wake up and put 2 and 2 together. And while you are at it finish that unfinished grieving for your Papa.”

Ouch.

And so with a new found peace about my Papa I offer to you the opportunity to make peace with your grief. Put a copy of it under your mattress, next to your computer, or above your dining room door. Let these birds help you transmute your grief issues whether it is in the form of resistance, shock, denial; where ever you are at in the process here is a little help.

Much Love and Light,

Aimee
