The message of the Butterfly has always been one of change and transformation; of rebirth and transmutation from one state of being into a new more enlightened creation.
The essence of the original form is still there despite the caterpillar having emerged into a totally new being.
Monarch Butterflies in particular have a fascinating life story. They wake up from hibernating in Mexico and head for Canada. It takes four generations of butterflies living 6-8 weeks each to even get to Canada.
And THEN when this 4th generation finally does arrive in Canada in October they turn the whole butterfly parade around and begin migrating back to Mexico! They have been doing this for generation after generation for eternity! Why the hell do they do that?! I grew up on the Canadian border in Northwest Vermont so by the time the monarchs reached us it was such a miracle to be seeing them at all!
It amazed me that suddenly that 4th generation would be able to stay alive all the way back to Mexico. They arrive all tattered and withered from traveling so far; past 18 wheelers and little kids trying catch them and rip their wings off; until they finally arrive in Mexico and can breathe an enormous sigh of butterfly relief and hibernate for the winter. An entirely NEW butterfly species was recently discovered in the Amazon! It has Transparent Wings! Imagine finding something that was still undiscovered! IMAGINE finding a butterfly with transparent wings! And the butterflies in the Amazon are spectacularly ginormous like birds for some reason anyway. It’s fascinating. Humanity is at a point in our evolution very much like butterflies. We are transforming into something new. Our transformation has been an eternal process punctuated by the incredible turning points that make history.
We are so lucky to be witnessing one of those fascinating momentous points in human evolution! Our children have new more extensive DNA than us parents and are capable of incredible things we have only begun to discover. Times are changing; life feels as though it is picking up speed everyday.
The collective consciousness is hitting that critical mass necessary to make a huge exciting shift! And, just like watching an episode of Little House on the Prairie seems to us now an incomprehensible way to live; on the other side of the amazing changes that have already begun for us we won’t be able to comprehend ever having been able to have suffered living THIS way.
What a gift to be a part of a new Renaissance as we move out of this dark age into better more evolved times
